Artists of the Round Table > Lesson 5.3: Tech. 9=Drips and splatters. I used a watercolor filled pen brush and then splattered yellow paint. Tech. 10=Pale paint wash. I used a pink Crayola marker on wet paper. Tech. 11=Saturated color using water-soluble oil pastels. I do not own any of these so I used the Crayola markers again on wet paper. Tech. 12= Use tissue paper for texture. I painted the card first with metalic copper paint and then glued down a used piece of dryer sheet. After this was dry I used a bit of black ink and gold colored antiquing chalk. (The dryer sheet would smell nice if you used a perfumed kind, but we do not because of my adversion to the laundry soap and dryer sheet smells. No perfume on our clothing.)
Artists of the Round Table > Lesson 5.2: Tech. 5= Dry brush brown and silver paint. Tech.6=Use Stencils: I used Crayola markers on the background and then stenciled circles of white paint. Stamped with my French script background stamp and then stenciled black swirls. Tech. 7=Rubbings and embossments. I used my son's metal journal cover for the rubbing after painting the card black metalic. After the paint dried I used silver rub-n-buff and embossed the image more. Tech. 8=Intergrate rubber stamps. I used a brown Crayola marker on the background and then a bunch of different stamps with both markers and ink. The final swirl stamp was embossed with gold.
Artists of the Round Table > Lesson 5.1: Technique1=I used oil pastels instead of regular (to lazy to go and fetch them;-), Tech. 2=Gesso and print. I did not have any news print so I ripped up a Netflix flap, glued it down with Mod Podge and then antiqued it with black ink after the mp dried. Tech. 3=Sponge paint. Colors used; black, copper and silver all metalic paints and a piece of a kitchen sponge that cut from. Tech. 4=Create patterns. Left over paint from #3 and yellow paint. Used a rubber pattern tool and then an old pen to write my name in the paint.
Artists of the Round Table > Lesson 4.1: This is the ATC I made for the swap. I used different stamps and ink on the background which is tan and then aged it. The black strip is a piece of that poster board that I used to make my journal and then I scuffed it up. The "love" is gold embossed with gold paint pen. The leaf is clear embossed. The heart in the lower right corner is punched out, painted gold and put back in the slot. I added gold wire to the left side. I hand made six of these to swap five with others. They are not all the same but same techniques.
Artists of the Round Table > lesson 5 first 6 backgrounds-- #1 pastel chalks, #2 Gesso with collaged newsprint, #3 sponging with color-wash over it,# 4 creating patterns, #5 dry-brush with mono print,#6 stencils
Artists of the Round Table > Lesson 5.1 All pieces on watercolor paper 1. Pastels (I didn't intend to make it look like Saturn) 2. Gesso over collage (newsprint, scrapbook paper, pages from a book) 3. Roller sponge with acrylic paint 4. Created patterns with glaze medium and acrylic paint over painted background - used finger and toothpicks to create squiggles 5. Monoprint from acrylic paint on palette paper mixed with a brayer - dry brush over print 6. Stencil layers made from stencils created from punches.
Artists of the Round Table > Lesson 5.2 All pieces on watercolor 7. Crayon rubbing of wall heater and of light switch plate 8. Rubber stamps inked over acrylic paint 9. Sprayed and splattered ink over acrylic paint allowing it to drip 10. Pale paint wash 11. Water based oil pastels to build intense color 12. Tissue layers over paint and gesso (unfortunately the gold layer does not show its intensity in the scan).
Artists of the Round Table > Lesson 5.3 - Bonus piece - coffee grounds poured directly on watercolor paper.
