Artists of the Round Table > lesson 4 is all about links, clasps and charms. i'm not keen on the standard heart link, so experimented with that a bit (the two below the even heart). i also don't like the circle link (bottom right corner) so i dinked around with that design, too. much happier with the squiggly one. a smaller gauge and hammered sufficiently to work harden it. the easy links - they're not quite so easy, but elegant.

Artists of the Round Table > simple and spiral clasps. i love spiral clasps. ah heck, i love spirals. so i dinked around with the design.

Artists of the Round Table > S clasps/links - definitely one of those things where practice makes perfect. the big one is to the book's specifications in lesson 4. the rest are experiments with different lengths of wire. all 16ga copper. my fave is the simple, unadorned one on the bottom right.

Artists of the Round Table > Lesson4 pendant bail. I whipped this out quick and dirty, so it looks like dogdoodoo. the bail will be hammered with a texture and the shell will be embellished eventually.

Artists of the Round Table > Lesson4 pendant dependent. I had this Tree of Life I received in a swap a hundred years ago. this variation on the lesson plan assignment seemed more fitting for this work of art. i'm building the necklace for it out of black wire in a viking knit.

Artists of the Round Table > Lesson5 - hoop earrings. the photo doesn't show the exturing on the beaten hoops. i made the chain with tiny jump rings and developed a U-shaped double-eye hoop to connect the shells with. When I showed them to my neice, she snagged them off my finger and said, "Thank you!" My wife was right. She said I'd lose them if I took them over there!! LOL

Artists of the Round Table > Week5 circle link bracelet left me cold. but i fiddled with variations of the link and found i liked some of them. this is one variation and accomplished with 18ga dead soft, round copper wire. it is incomplete, but i wanted the viewers to see how the links were modified and assembled first. everything is pounded flat, including the jump rings.

Artists of the Round Table > This is the same bracelet with tornadoed beads and some simple charms. i used 4mm hemalike rounds and wrapped them with 22ga copper wire. the charms are 4mm hemalike rounds with antique E beads and some size 10 silvered brown glass seed beads on black, 22ga artistic wire. it's a lip biter to get it hooked, but once on it feels delicious!
